In September the British Medical Journal released information regarding the use of Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) which include Ibuprofen, Naproxen, and Diclofenac, over an extended period could be harmful and increase the risk of heart failure.
Now there are reports that long-term use of over-the-counter pain relievers may be associated with increased risk of hearing loss in some women, a new study says.
Longer use of ibuprofen or paracetamol (acetaminophen) was associated with potentially higher risk of impaired hearing.
Women who used ibuprofen or paracetamol for six years or more were more likely to suffer hearing loss than those who used the pain relievers for a year or less, said researchers from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. See more…
